Our authorized medical examiners perform all required tests (physical examination, vision, hearing, ECG, urinalysis) on site, in a single appointment, with direct transmission to Transport Canada.

Types of medical examinations

- Airline pilot (Class 1)Comprehensive assessment required for airline pilots. Includes ECG, vision, hearing, urine and thorough medical examination.
- Professional pilot (Class 1)Examination required for holders of non-line professional licenses. Same rigor as Class 1, adapted to commercial functions.
- Flight engineerMedical examination based on class 1 or 2, depending on flight duties. Verification of physical and mental fitness for service on board.
- Air traffic controller (Class 2)Specific assessment including vision, hearing and mental health. Essential for air traffic controllers.

Appointment procedure
At Clinique Omicron, the civil aviation medical examination takes place in two separate appointments, in order to comply with the steps required by Transport Canada to obtain or renew a medical certificate.
1. Meeting with the nurse
During this first clinic visit, the nurse will collect the required medical data:
- Measurement of vital signs (blood pressure, pulse)
- Urinalysis
- Visual test
- Audiogram (if required by class)
- Electrocardiogram (ECG) if indicated by age or type of certificate
2. Meeting with the doctor
At the second appointment, the Transport Canada-certified physician will :
- A complete physical examination
- Validation of the results obtained at the first meeting
- Completing the official form for Transport Canada
Depending on the assessment, a medical certificate may be issued or renewed on site. A temporary certificate may also be issued, depending on the case.

Renewal is a two-step process at Clinique Omicron: a nursing assessment (tests required) followed by a medical appointment. If health status is satisfactory, the certificate is renewed or a temporary certificate is issued.
