At Clinique Omicron, we see obesity as a chronic, multifactorial disease requiring rigorous, supervised and collaborative management. In some cases, it may be appropriate to combine dietary and nutritional measures with psychological support, or even surgery. That's why our approach relies on the collaboration of several experts: dietician, physician, psychologist, surgeon, among others. Our priority is to offer personalized support to each patient, respecting his or her pace, goals and realities, in order to promote lasting improvement in health and quality of life.

Medications not included: The treatments (Wegovy, Saxenda, Zepbound, Contrave, Xenical) are prescribed by our doctors and obtained from the pharmacy of your choice.
Engagement 3 months minimum. Non-taxable medical services.
Using consultations: Each package includes a medical consultation, to be scheduled within the current billing month. Slots are available weekly, either in-clinic or via teleconsultation. This program is designed for regular follow-up – the pace of one meeting per billing cycle allows for adjustments to treatment over time. Consultations cannot be carried over from one month to the next and do not constitute a cumulative hour bank. In case of package interruption, the doctor-patient relationship can continue outside the package, and a new medical evaluation will be required to resume the program.
Cancellation: After the initial 3-month period, flexible cancellation with 30 days' notice.
INJECTION SUPPORT
Wegovy, Zepbound, Saxenda — the majority of obesity treatments are subcutaneous injections that you administer yourself at home. It's simple, minimally painful, and our team will teach you the full technique during your appointment.
Your nurse or doctor will show you how to prepare the injection pen, choose the injection site, and the exact technique.
You perform your first injection under supervision, on-site. You leave feeling confident and autonomous.
Abdomen, thigh, arm — we'll explain rotation, refrigeration, and managing side effects.
Printed aide-mémoire with steps, injection sites, warning signs, and our support line.
Included in all packages. Self-injection training is an integral part of your care—at no additional cost. If you prefer, training is also available via telemedicine or at your home (UVO).
According to Obesity Canada, effective obesity management rests on 3 complementary pillars. At Clinique Omicron, we offer all three - coordinated by the same team.

Several Health Canada-approved prescription medications are available at Clinique Omicron for the long-term management of obesity. They are prescribed and monitored medically, always combined with behavioral interventions to ensure the best lasting results.
GLP-1 treatment that acts on specific neurons in the brain to increase satiety, reduce hunger and control cravings. Administered as a weekly subcutaneous injection.
Dual action on GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Increases satiety, reduces hunger and decreases cravings for sweet and fatty foods by acting on the brain response. Weekly injection.
Daily injection of GLP-1 helps weight loss by reducing appetite and the amount of food consumed. Acts on the brain's satiety centers.
Combination tablet acting on the brain's hunger and craving pathways. Naltrexone manages food dependence, while bupropion (an antidepressant) reduces appetite and compulsive behaviours.
Blocks the enzymes that break down dietary fats, reducing the amount of lipids absorbed by the body. Taken with meals. Does not affect appetite - unique mechanism of action among obesity treatments.
Weekly injection indicated for weight management in people with a genetic alteration of the MC4R pathway: Bardet-Biedl syndrome, POMC, PCSK1 or LEPR deficiency.
Our teams manage obesity as a chronic disease, with a complete program adapted to your profile, accessible in clinic, at home or by teleconsultation at one of our many points of service in Quebec.

Medical approach, pharmacotherapy, multidisciplinary team, bariatric surgery, teleconsultation, associated conditions - complete answers about our weight management program at Clinique Omicron, available without a referral, in clinic or online anywhere in Quebec.
Clinique Omicron treats obesity as a chronic, multifactorial disease - not as a problem of willpower or simple overeating. Our program is based on three pillars recognized by Obesity Canada: behavioral and psychological interventions (CBT, clinical nutrition, adapted physical activity), pharmacological treatments approved by Health Canada if indicated, and evaluation for bariatric surgery when other treatments are insufficient. The whole process is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team (doctor, dietician, nurse, psychologist, kinesiologist) around a personalized plan, adapted to your pace and reality - without judgment.
No. No medical referral is required to consult at Clinique Omicron. You can make an appointment directly for an initial evaluation, either in-clinic or via teleconsultation. At this initial meeting, our team will perform a complete medical assessment, including body composition analysis, weight history, review of associated health conditions (diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis) and definition of your goals - before developing a personalized multidisciplinary plan.
Clinique Omicron offers access to Health Canada-approved medications for the long-term management of obesity: Wegovy (semaglutide, GLP-1 weekly), Zepbound (tirzepatide, dual action GIP + GLP-1 weekly), Saxenda (liraglutide, GLP-1 daily), Contrave (naltrexone/bupropion, oral tablet) and Xenical (orlistat, lipase inhibitor). These treatments are prescribed by our doctors for patients with a BMI ≥ 30, or ≥ 27 with comorbidities, and are always combined with behavioral interventions to maximize sustainable results. A rare case - IMCIVREE (setmelanotide) - is also available for genetic conditions specific to the MC4R pathway.
Yes - these conditions are precisely at the heart of our approach. Obesity is often associated with co-morbidities such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, dyslipidemia, osteoarthritis and cardiovascular disease. Our medical team assesses your overall health at the first consultation and adapts the program accordingly: adjusting existing drug treatments, choosing a pharmacotherapy that is beneficial for your associated conditions, a physical activity plan adapted to your limitations, and close monitoring of biological parameters throughout the program.
Yes, Clinique Omicron has a specialized pediatric program for the management of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents. The program is available in-clinic or by teleconsultation, and includes an age-appropriate assessment, a family nutrition plan, advice on physical activity and lifestyle, and psychological support if required. The approach involves the whole family in establishing sustainable lifestyle habits in the child's daily environment - taking into account development, food preferences and school and family realities.
Maintaining long-term results is a priority for our program. Each follow-up consultation includes monitoring of clinical progress (weight, body composition, biological parameters), reassessment of the nutritional and physical activity plan, and adjustments to pharmacotherapy if necessary. Our psychologists support patients with behavioral strategies to prevent relapse: managing emotional eating, identifying triggers and reinforcing motivation. The aim is not just to achieve a target weight, but to achieve a lasting improvement in quality of life and reduce the risk of health complications.
Psychological support is an essential pillar of our approach. Obesity is often linked to emotional eating behaviors, self-stigma, eating disorders (EDs) or underlying mental health issues (anxiety, depression, chronic stress) that impede weight loss or promote relapse. Our psychologists use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches to work on thinking habits, food triggers, body image and stress management - in direct coordination with the physician, dietitian and kinesiologist.
Yes, teleconsultation is available for the entire obesity care pathway, from initial assessment to long-term follow-up. It is suitable for medical consultations (initial assessment, medication adjustment, prescription), nutritional follow-up with the dietician, sessions with the psychologist (CBT, emotional eating), nursing follow-up and meetings with the kinesiologist. The platform is secure, confidential and accessible throughout Quebec - particularly useful for patients in remote areas or with mobility or scheduling constraints.
Bariatric surgery is considered when behavioral interventions and pharmacotherapy fail to achieve sufficient results, or when the comorbidities associated with obesity represent a significant health risk. Clinique Omicron performs a full medical evaluation to determine eligibility for surgery, and can refer patients to bariatric surgeons in its network for gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y bypass) or sleeve gastrectomy. Pre- and post-operative follow-up is also provided by our multidisciplinary team.
A reduction of 5 to 10 % in initial body weight is associated with significant and measurable clinical benefits: reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, lower blood pressure, improved lipid profile, reduced joint pain, improved sleep quality and reduced apnea symptoms. Beyond the numbers on the scale, patients also report greater energy in their daily lives, improved self-esteem and an overall enhanced quality of life. Results vary according to each patient's profile - our team sets realistic, progressive and sustainable goals from the outset.
The obesity dietitian develops a personalized, realistic eating plan based on your preferences, habits, caloric needs and medical conditions. She helps you make lasting changes to your eating habits, manage cravings and identify practical daily obstacles. The kinesiologist designs a progressive physical activity program adapted to your physical condition, fitness level, joint limitations and lifestyle - with the emphasis on regularity and pleasure rather than performance.
Some medical consultations performed by a participating physician may be covered by RAMQ. Multidisciplinary follow-ups (dietician, kinesiologist, psychologist) and most private consultations specializing in weight management are not covered by the public plan. However, some of these services may be eligible for reimbursement under group or private insurance plans, depending on your policy. We recommend that you check directly with your insurer.
