How it works

Prepare your teleconsultation in 5 easy steps

1
Make an appointment

Online IPS consultation

Clinique Omicron's Clinical Nurse Practitioners (CNPs) play a key role in improving access to care. They intervene directly to assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions, without the need for prior consultation with a physician. Thanks to their expertise, they initiate appropriate treatments and carry out preventive check-ups. For added flexibility, our consultations are also offered remotely, by audio or video call, enabling you to receive personalized, secure care without leaving your home.

The service

Quick access to a doctor or an IPS, without leaving your home

Clinique Omicron offers a medical teleconsultation service accessible anywhere in Quebec - by audio or video call, from your home, office or anywhere with an Internet connection. Our physicians and nurse practitioners assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions without the need for a face-to-face consultation.

Each consultation begins with a nursing triage that confirms your identity, assesses whether your condition can be managed remotely, and refers you to the right professional depending on the complexity of your situation. This process guarantees safe care in line with Quebec medical standards.

Telemedicine does not replace emergency care. In the event of a serious problem or rapid deterioration in your condition, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Why choose us

Comprehensive telemedicine - more than just a telephone line

Clinique Omicron offers fast, personalized access to telemedicine throughout Quebec. Thanks to our multidisciplinary team, each consultation - whether conducted by a physician, a PHN or a nurse clinician - is a clinical act in its own right: assessment, chart notes, referrals, prescriptions and follow-up are included according to identified needs.

Fast access with no waiting list, anywhere in Quebec Comprehensive medical follow-up: coordinated tests, treatments, referrals and procedures Multidisciplinary team: doctors, PHNs, clinical nurses, psychologists Secure, encrypted platform compliant with Quebec standards Telemedicine can be combined with home or clinic care
Limits of telemedicine - read before you book

Telemedicine is not suitable for all clinical situations. Some conditions require direct physical examination, which remote consultation cannot replace. During triage, the healthcare professional will assess whether your situation can be managed remotely, or whether an in-person consultation is required.

Medical emergencies - call 911 or go to the emergency room
Conditions requiring a full physical examination (auscultation, palpation, etc.)
Situations requiring immediate diagnostic tests (imaging, urgent ECG)
Procedural interventions requiring a physical presence

If your condition requires an in-person examination, you will be referred to the appropriate clinic or resource. Prior nursing triage is a billed clinical consultation, including assessment, chart notes and referral - in accordance with the Virtual Care Consent Policy.

Nursing triage is a clinical consultation

The initial assessment carried out by the nurse clinician is a professional act in its own right - not just an administrative check. It includes an assessment of your condition, clinical notes in your file and referral to the right professional. This service is billable in accordance with our consent policy.

Redirection to clinic ≠ no service

If your condition requires a physical examination, the professional will clearly communicate this to you during the consultation and coordinate the follow-up. This redirection is part of the normal clinical process - it ensures your safety and does not constitute grounds for reimbursement, in accordance with our reimbursement policy.

Shared responsibility - accurate information required

The quality of the diagnosis depends on the information you provide. By booking a teleconsultation, you agree to accurately disclose your health condition. Any omission may compromise the evaluation. Acceptance of our Consent Policy is implied upon confirmation of your appointment.

By confirming your appointment, you agree to our Virtual care consent policy - including clinical limits, financial responsibilities, non-coverage of certain services and applicable reimbursement conditions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions — Teleconsultation

Everything you need to know about private medical teleconsultation at Clinique Omicron — how it works, preparation, reimbursement, and clinical limitations.

What is a private medical teleconsultation?

A teleconsultation is a medical consultation conducted remotely via a secure audio or video call. A healthcare professional (doctor or NP) assesses your situation, provides a diagnosis if appropriate, and offers care without requiring you to travel. The service is accessible throughout Quebec from your home, office, or any internet connection.

Do I need a family doctor for a telehealth consultation?

No. Private teleconsultation at Clinique Omicron is accessible to all patients in Quebec, with or without a family doctor. No prior prescription is required to book.

How does a remote consultation work?

After booking your appointment, you will receive a secure link via email. A clinical nurse will greet you for an initial triage (identity verification, reason for visit assessment). You will then be transferred to the appropriate doctor or NP. Prescriptions, clinical notes, and recommendations will be sent through your secure patient portal.

What conditions can be evaluated via teleconsultation?

Our professionals handle a wide range of common reasons: general consultations, mental health, hormonal health, chronic illnesses, prescription refills, medical notes, referrals to specialists, and more. The medical assessment will determine if your situation can be treated remotely or if an in-person consultation is required.

What situations cannot be handled remotely?

Teleconsultation is not suitable for all situations: medical emergencies (call 9-1-1), conditions requiring a full physical examination, immediate diagnostic tests (imaging, urgent ECG), procedural interventions. Nursing triage assesses from the outset whether your situation can be managed remotely.

Is teleconsultation covered by RAMQ?

Clinique Omicron operates under a hybrid model. Some virtual consultations may be covered by the RAMQ depending on the nature of the service and the professional's affiliation. Private services are billed with a transparent fee and a receipt for private insurance. Consult the price list to learn more.

Can I get a prescription or a medical certificate via telemedicine?

Yes, to the extent that it is clinically justified. The professional assesses your situation and, if the conditions are met, issues the prescription or medical note. Documents are transmitted to your secure patient portal, in accordance with Quebec professional standards.

How to prepare for my telemedicine appointment?

Prepare a device with a camera and microphone (computer, tablet, or phone), a stable internet connection, and a quiet, private space. Have your health insurance card, medication list, and questions ready. Test your equipment before your appointment to avoid any delays.

What is nurse triage and why is it billed?

Nurse triage is a clinical assessment performed by a nurse clinician before your consultation with a physician or nurse practitioner. It includes identity verification, assessment of your reason for visit, clinical notes in your file, and referral to the appropriate professional. It is a professional act in its own right, billable in accordance with our Virtual Care Consent Policy.

What happens if the doctor refers me to a clinic?

If your condition requires a physical examination or in-person intervention, the professional will direct you to the appropriate service point or suitable resource. This redirection is part of the normal clinical process and ensures your safety. In accordance with our reimbursement policy, it does not constitute a reason for reimbursement since the clinical service was rendered.

Is teleconsultation secure and confidential?

Yes. Our platform is encrypted and compliant with Quebec's health information privacy standards (Law 25). No exchange is transmitted to a third party without your explicit consent. Please choose a private location for your consultation to maintain confidentiality.

How much does a private telemedicine consultation cost?

The fee varies depending on the type of service (general medicine, specialized, NP, etc.). Clinique Omicron publishes its fees with full transparency — consult our price list. A receipt is issued for private insurance. Services covered by the RAMQ do not incur any fees for eligible patients.

In which regions is teleconsultation available?

Clinique Omicron's telemedicine consultations are accessible throughout Quebec, from Greater Montreal to remote regions. Regardless of your location, as long as you have an internet or phone connection, our professionals can reach you.

How do I book a teleconsultation?

You can book online via our appointment pageby telephone at 514 606-3350 or by email at info@cliniqueomicron.ca. No appointment is considered confirmed without explicit validation from our team via email, call, or official clinic text message.
