Job description
The Omicron Clinic's home-visit phlebotomy nurse provides medical specimen collection services directly at patients' homes, ensuring personalized and adapted care in the comfort of their own residences. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, excellent organizational skills, and a strong sense of customer service.
Main tasks
- Perform blood draws and other biological sample collections at home, rigorously adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.
- Ensure the secure transport and storage of samples to maintain their integrity until they reach the laboratory.
- Assess the overall condition of patients during visits and report any relevant health concerns to the medical team.
- Provide patient support, explain sample collection procedures, and answer their questions.
- Document interventions performed and ensure required administrative follow-up in electronic medical records (Medfar/Myle).
- Collaborate with other clinical team members to optimize home care coordination.
Training and entry requirements
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Health, Assistance, and Nursing Care.
- Active practice permit'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ).
- Class 5 driver's license valid and access to a personal vehicle for travel.
- Experience in sampling or home care desired.
