The Omicron Clinical EAP is designed to be frictionlessly accessible - no paperwork, no medical forms, no employer referral required to access the service.

First contact — the employee takes the initiative

Confidential

The employee contacts the EAP directly by phone, email, or online portal — without going through their manager or HR. This process is entirely voluntary and confidential. The employer is never informed of the mere fact that an employee has contacted the service.

Initial assessment and triage

Within 24 h

A qualified professional conducts a rapid assessment to identify the nature of the need—psychological, medical, legal, or other—and determines the level of urgency. If the situation is urgent, an appointment is scheduled within 24 hours.

Phone, clinic, or home

The employee is put in touch with the professional corresponding to their need — psychologist, doctor, social worker, legal advisor. The consultation takes place in the format chosen by the employee: video, phone, at the clinic, or at home.

Is the employer informed that an employee is using the EAP?

No, never. EAP use is strictly confidential. The employer receives only aggregated, anonymized reports (e.g. «12 % of employees used the service this quarter, mainly for mental health support»). No names, individual reasons or medical information are passed on. This confidentiality is contractually guaranteed.

How is Omicron Clinical EAP different from EAPs like Dialogue or Telus Health?

Purely digital EAPs essentially offer telephone or video psychological support. Clinique Omicron adds to this:

  • From In-person medical consultations at the clinic
  • From home nursing care for disabled employees
  • Real access to doctors, not just advisors
  • Visit CNESST monitoring and medical return to work integrated
  • From specimens, health check-ups, and specialist referrals
How many sessions are included for each employee?

The number of sessions varies depending on the package selected by the organization: 3 sessions for the Essentiel package, 5 sessions for the Standard package and 8 sessions for the Complete package. These sessions are per employee, per year, and include all types of consultation covered (psychological, medical, legal, depending on the package). If an employee requires longer follow-up, a referral to specialized resources is arranged.

Are employees' family members covered?

Yes, depending on the package. Visit Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) includes spouse or life partner and dependent children in the household. This extended coverage is available as an option on Standard and Complete packages. The family accesses the service through the same channel as the employee, in complete confidentiality and without the employer being informed.

What is the waiting period for a first appointment?

Appointments are available within 24 to 48 hours for teleconsultation, and within 48 to 72 hours for in-clinic consultation. In psychological emergencies (suicidal ideation, acute crisis), an assessment line is available immediately. There is no waiting list - rapid access is one of the key advantages of PAE Clinique Omicron over the public network.

Can an EEA be implemented for a company with fewer than 25 employees?

Yes, absolutely. The Omicron Clinical EAP is designed to fit any size organization - from 10 to 500+ employees. For smaller companies, we offer customized packages with an adjusted cost per employee. Many Quebec SMEs don't have access to an EAP because of the cost or the minimum number of employees required by other providers - we've deliberately eliminated this barrier.

How can a manager refer an employee to the EAP without violating their privacy?

The manager can mention the existence of the EAP and encourage their employee to use it—without requiring them to do so, without asking for justification, and without being informed of the follow-up. This is called informal guidance. For more serious situations (severe drop in performance, worrying behaviour), we also offer a'Supervised targeted intervention - with the employee's written consent, and with the support of our consultants to prepare the conversation.

Does the EAP cover work stoppages and CNESST monitoring?

Yes – this is an exclusive advantage of the Omicron Clinic EAP. Our physicians can issue medical certificates, follow up on work-related injuries, and coordinate the return-to-work plan with the employer and the CNESST. This service is generally absent from purely psychological EAPs, forcing employees to juggle multiple systems.

Is the EAP tax-deductible for the employer?

If their group insurance covers additional sessions, we help them navigate the process.

How can you measure the return on your EAP investment?

The key indicators to follow are: absenteeism rate (before/after), employee turnover rate, presenteeism days (attendance without performance), replacement and training costs, and the number of CNESST claims for psychological injuries. North American studies show an average return of 4 $ for every dollar invested in an active EAP - mainly by reducing absenteeism and turnover. We provide an anonymized quarterly report to facilitate this monitoring.

How do I launch the EAP in my organization?
